Let’s say you’ve got a situation that doesn’t seem to change, no matter what you do. As you go, you notice that your RESPONSE to this situation changes each time it comes around until finally, not only are you not reacting or even feeling annoyed at it, suddenly you’re looking at it in a whole new light. It’s not that you like the situation any more than you used to – it’s that you’re at a point where you’re now free to figure out what you’d want INSTEAD and have your energy truly focus on that preference. Before, you could only say that you wished this other thing would happen, but you weren’t REALLY focusing on that, you were focusing on how much you disliked the situation in front of your face.
