The Pale Orange Wildflowers below are smaller than a dime in real life, and the blue wildflowers are somewhat small too, but grow on stalks instead of one to a stem. (Click on them for larger, more detailed images.) The caterpillar shot is a close up – click on it to see the larger view and you’ll see blue skin, and crazy tufts of orange and white fur! They infest some of the Live Oak Trees around here, and I’ve been spraying them off the leaves in the two trees in our yard (with the hose), otherwise they just eat everything and the trees go bare. The trees regrow the leaves, but they look horrible until then, and besides, the sounds of the caterpillars crunching the leaves is unbelievably loud and weird.
