When we moved into the converted schoolhouse, there were strange concrete sculptures in many fence corners, apparently put there by a previous owner who was also an artist. Many of them look vaguely human (this one looks vaguely ‘madonna’ish and another one has a ‘buddha’ish feel to it) and we feel they are guardians of the property here. They are getting a bit old and weathered, you can see the steel framework poking out from underneath the worn concrete in various places, but that just makes them fit in with the general environment here anyway.
