Tadpole update: As many have suggested, we’ve been feeding the little buggers boiled lettuce, which they are LOVING. (But then, they are also chewing on some twigs that drop into the water from the tree overhead. Strange seeing them appear to ‘chew’ on wood.) We’ve got a bunch more teeny toads with almost NO tail at all – hanging out completely out of the water.

The little fish that came along with the tadpoles are doing well too, but they prefer the fish food – not big on salad, I guess. We’re not sure what kind they are, perhaps some kind of minnow, and we may just transfer them to a fish tank once the tadpoles are all grown.
