Since I ran across some ‘how we can help’ things today regarding the fires in Southern CA, I thought I’d pass them along. To donate to the Red Cross, call 1-800-help-now – you can specify that your funds go to those affected by the S.Ca. Fires. There’s also the LA Times Family Fund Fire Relief Campaign.

A friend researched ways to help the animals affected by the fires too, so I thought I’d pass that along too:

Donations can be made to:
San Diego Humane Society and SPCA:
5500 Gaines St., San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 299-702, ext. 2245
or clink ‘n donate via their website at:
http://www.sdhumane.org/howyoucanhelp/fire.cfm

Anyone who wishes to donate supplies may call Jessica Weiss (619) 299-7012 ext. 2245, or Anne Armstrong (619) 243-3408. This includes supplies for the horses and other large animals that have been rescued. Also (heads up in particular to those of you involved with feline asthma): In San Bernardino/ Redlands, there are some cats with respiratory problems that need homes where this kind of care is understood. If you can adopt one more critter with breathing problems please call Jaymee Cardenas at (909) 888-8170 or Lynne Vachon at (909) 793-3115, ext. 556. Also, donations to the San Bernardino Humane Society can be made by calling (909) 882-2934, ext. 10
