Our neighbor had, for some reason, closed off two gates so that his cows had to go all the way AROUND this large hill to get into the pasture with the water trough. Problem is, the cows more often than not, FORGOT about this other gate, and mooed loudly and often, especially when the little ones got caught on the other side of the gate. They’d even started hopping the fences to get through. Since we weren’t about to listen to any more hours of frantic and loud mooing, we just opened the dang gates. Problem solved. One little cow seemed to be really thirsty and after he got over his timidness, he jogged by us and right to the trough – heh.
Note to self – next time you move, DON’T pack the cows – leave them here. 😉
