There’s something really satisfying about sawing branches (1-2 inch diameter) into fireplace sized chunks. These particular branches are pine, so the sawing is quick, and when you’re done, you’ve got a nice, catalog-photogenic stack of wood – like something out of the Plow & Hearth Catalog. And it’s somehow neat to know that this simple activity is as interesting to me as deep philosophical discussions can be, yet so different.
