Bad Idea: wall to wall carpeting in a bathroom. I just want to know who was smoking what when they thought up that one. There’s just nothing you can DO when water gets into the carpet except either wet-dry vac it (which we don’t have, and would have to drive a half hour to rent one) or wait for it to dry and then hope the moldy smell goes away.

In any case though, it’s no longer something we have to deal with as we ripped it all out this morning – ahhhhhh! At the moment we’re left with a concrete floor covered in carpet glue, but would you believe it’s STILL better than it was? And a little glue solvent, some new paint, and sealer, and we’ll have an entirely new bathroom experience. We should have done this a long time ago – LOL.
