If I’m remembering this correctly, the initial definition of the word ‘barbarian’ was simply someone who did not speak Greek. And the definition of a ‘heathen’ means someone who is not of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. Isn’t it interesting how these words of EXCLUSION came to connote, in general, derogatory labels? (deep thought of the day)
